Finding
Pokémon can typically be found in bits of shaking grass, so if you see a Pokémon is nearby and you don't know where, heading to a piece of grass is the most logical course of action.
0 Footprint - The Pokémon is right on top of you and will appear soon
1 Footprint - The Pokémon is within approx. 20 metres
2 Footprints - The Pokémon is within approx. 100 metres
3 Footprints - The Pokémon is within approx. 1 kilometre
Catching
When you go to catch a Pokémon, when you hold the ball down you will see a circle shrinking and then restarting. This circle can denote how hard the Pokémon is to capture.
Green - This Pokémon is easy to capture and won't likely break out of the Poké Ball
Yellow- This Pokémon is slightly difficult to capture and may break out of the Poké Ball
Orange - This Pokémon is moderately difficult to capture and may break out of the Poké Ball
Red - This Pokémon is difficult to capture and will likely break out of the Poké Ball
If you throw the ball when the circle matches the white circle around the Pokémon, you will get a bonus. However, the smaller the circle, the better the chance of capture
