According to a number of players, faking your GPS location through third party apps will result in a ban that last somewhere between two to three hours. Some have reported less, even under an hour. Apparently you can still open the app and move around, but any Pokemon you encounter will run after the first ball is thrown and you cant interact with Gyms and PokeStops. Whilst there's no confirmation, we can assume that constant re-offending will likely result in a permanent ban.
